The Lovely Rita Hayworth

I'm such a sucker for old movies. I find them a lot more interesting than anything current. I happened to catch the movie "Cover Girl" on TCM. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful costumes Rita Hayworth wore. The movie is definitely worth watching for those who love glamour.

Rusty Parker (Rita Hayworth) is a dancer at nightclub owned and operated by her boyfriend Danny McGuire (Gene Kelly). She learns of open auditions to be the Golden Wedding Girl for Vanity's 50th Anniversary issue, and eventually gets the coveted position. Her newfound popularity puts the nightclub on the map, but also puts strain on her relationship with Danny. He opts to not stand in her way, intentionally arguing with her one day so she will split up with him. Rusty's continuing rise to stardom leads to a courtship from the wealthy Noel Wheaton (Lee Bowman) and a Broadway show, but she still cannot get Danny off her mind.

Waity Katie No More!

She finally got her man, but honestly I think he's the lucky one. She seems to be quite an interesting and determined lady. I was bombarded with television programs all about the "royal couple" last night. I can't say that I paid all that much attention to them over the years, but she did hold my attention a few times when it seemed the press was bit harsh to her (I always wondered what the motive was behind it). Giving her names like "waity katie" or mentioning her weight. Maybe she was just "in training" all along. Being a public figure is the eye of the media isn't an easy task and definitely isn't for the thin skinned.
I thought William looked very handsome in his Irish Guards uniform, and Kate's dress was gorgeous, but one had to question her choice. Why of all people would you choose a style of dress so close to a woman who died tragically in a car accident, much like the woman who's ring you're wearing?! Maybe she's of the morbid type. Also, William asked for Kate's title to be "princess", but the Queen didn't approve. Kate's official title is now the "Duchess of Cambridge."
Anyhow, I wish them all the best with their marriage. They look like such a lovely couple. Congratulations!

I'm on top of the the Spring 2011 nail trends! I'm currently wearing Essie "sugar daddy" on my hands, and Essie "nice is nice" on my toes. The pretty lavender shade on my toes makes me smile. Money well spent!

Long time no see everyone. It's definitely Fall and in the fall a lot of women tend to dye their Luscious locks darker. I'm loving the ombre look right now and I've probably loved it since Cindy Crawford rocked the look back in the 90's.

But I have to say Lily Aldridge, the Victoria Secret model is definitely doing the Ombre look justice!

I love Independence day and it's usually a fun and exciting time for myself and my family, but with my being ill and a family member fighting for their life in the hospital. All gone.

Do you ever look at the ingredients while you're munching away on snacks? Probably not. The only thing on your mind is "this tastes good". If you're anything like me, after consuming a snack do you feel horrible after? And I don't mean the guilty kind. I know I did, and that is when I started reading the labels.
Boy! Was I surprised when I took a look at the ingredients. After avoiding certain snacks I felt a lot better. I lost weight. My skin even looked more vibrant. I encourage you to investigate those ingredients and listen to what you're body is telling you. I received a CoverGirl sample package that included one Shadowblast eyeshadow in onyx smoke and also a shineblast in 805.
I liked the eyeshadow a lot, especially the ease of application. A warning to those who do not like shimmer in their makeup this product is not for you. Loved the lip gloss as well. It wasn't sticky and was a nice sheer natural color. Perfect for the Summer.

I've been on a mission for months to find the perfect pair of patent leather beige heels. With just the right sized heel and comfort. Unfortunately, just when I think I've found them, they are sold out.

I did get lucky a few days ago when I finally found a pair online at Aldo. I received my shipment today and cannot be happier. They are the perfect color & size heel. I can't say anything about the comfort yet because I haven't worn them out.

Another item I have searched for is the perfect beige shirt dress and I found it at Calvin Klein. It looks much better on the body than it does on the hanger. Hugs your curves in just the right places.

Onto the subject of Dream closets. When our house was being built from the ground up. I was only concerned with how big my walk-in closet was going to be. After looking at a few Celebrity closets. I clearly set my goal too low.

TO MATTE OR NOT TO MATTE? THAT IS MY DILEMMA.

Although I rarely paint my nails these days. I do have an affection for nail polish. Preferably the shiny kind. So what's the story with these matte shades? I'm not yet sure if this is a trend I will be following.

*Note: I'm loving lace nails right now! Can't wait to try it. Be careful though, because it sounds like the adhesive used to glue the lace to the nail may be damaging to the top layer.

WHO CAN FORGET THIS TUTU?

A recent glance at my sisters New Year pictures reminded me of a certain tutu. Recognize it? Well, somehow, she bought an awesome dress very similar to the original one Carrie wore.

I had to Google the famous Tutu. Turns out plenty of designer's were inspired. Many different styles have been created since then and I've fallen in love with a certain Lame' and Tulle embroidered $15,000 Ralph Lauren dress. A girl can dream can't she?

Even Celeb's like Scarlett Johansson have worn Tutu inspired frocks to red carpet events. Not so crazy about this one.

This is the longer version Carrie wore in season 6.
I love the sea foam color! It's my personal favorite.

Being the Buzz Agent that I am. I just had to share one of L'Oreal's newest products "Lash boosting serum".
I received a free lash boosting kit from L'Oreal. The package included one double extend mascara with serum on one end and mascara on the other. Very convenient. Also, a full sized package of Lash boosting serum.
Now this is a L'Oreal lash boosting 4-week challenge I'm participating in. I'm only one week in but I will say I love how the serum moisturizes my lashes before I put on the double extend Mascara. In my opinion, it has definitely prevented breakage.

Clear complexion and I have to say I was pretty blessed as a teenager, but now that I'm in my late twenties something is definitely different. I was always sensitive to the over the counter acne medications, so I would suffer whenever I had a breakout. I'm always receiving samples in the mail and one arrived just in time for a breakout. I didn't expect much, but overnight something definitely happened..my acne fairy godmother must have visited because everything was just about gone in the morning. Now, I want to make it clear that I applied it right at the beginning of the breakout not mid or post and it worked great. Try it out!
